ONAIR Build Series / Volkswagen
A Timeless Bagged Mk4 GTI
Silver-on-silver. Clean lines. A stance that speaks for itself.

Some builds do not need a loud colour or a long explanation to make you stop and look. This silver Volkswagen Mk4 GTI makes its point through proportion: clean bodywork, intricate multi-spoke wheels and an aired-out stance that brings the whole car together.
For this ONAIR Build Series feature, we are taking a closer look at what makes this Golf work, from the front lip and wheel fitment to the air ride setup behind the hatch.

Classic Mk4 lines. A sharper finish.
The two-door silhouette is left to do the talking. The bumpers, side skirts and body mouldings follow the same silver palette, keeping the profile visually connected from front to rear. Dark glass and black trim add just enough contrast without pulling attention away from the shape of the car.
Up front, the badge-less grille and mesh bumper openings give the nose a smooth, uncluttered look. The black lower lip adds definition beneath the silver bumper. Nothing feels out of place; the changes sharpen the Mk4 rather than disguise it.

Fitment that brings it together
The wheel choice keeps the same restrained approach. Silver multi-spoke faces add detail without introducing another colour, and the open spoke pattern gives the wheels a light, intricate appearance against the rounded bodywork.
Seen from the side, the relationship between the wheels and arches is what changes the whole look. With the car aired out, the reduced gap pulls everything closer together. The front bumper, side skirt and rear valance sit visually low as one continuous line, rather than three separate pieces.

The photos show the parked, aired-out stance. Driving height needs to be set separately, with suitable tire, body and suspension clearance.
Behind the hatch: the ONAIR setup
Open the hatch and the air ride hardware becomes part of the presentation. A silver air tank sits horizontally across the centre, with an ONAIR management manifold mounted above it. The pressure gauge, exposed fittings and neatly grouped lines give the setup a purposeful, mechanical look.

The dark carpeted surroundings make the metal tank stand out, while the black manifold and tubing sit naturally against the background. The red tank graphic adds a small hit of colour without changing the overall theme.
It is a detail worth carrying into any build plan: the hardware does not need to disappear to look intentional. Here, the tank and management are part of the visual story, not an afterthought hidden behind the finished exterior.
The rear view finishes the story
From the rear quarter, the same balance carries through. Dark red taillights, the GTI badge and the silver rear bumper keep the Golf recognisable. The rear wheel sitting close to the arch gives this angle its attitude, without needing an oversized aero piece or a dramatic colour change.

That is what we love about this build. The front end, wheel choice, stance and trunk presentation all point in the same direction. It is clean without feeling unfinished, and detailed without being overdone.

MK4 community, you know the feeling.
