BUILT FOR
THE DAILY DRIVE.
From city streets to highway miles, daily driving brings bumps and potholes. See how the spring supports the load and the damper settles the movement.
Watch the wheels cross the bump and drop into the pothole. Then watch the body settle.
Motion is reduced. Explore the spring, rebound and road-feel explanations below.
Inside the movement
Spring compression follows the front wheel’s movement relative to the body.
The wheel rises over a bump and drops into a pothole. The air spring compresses and extends as the wheel moves relative to the body. A matched spring and damper help manage that movement while keeping the ride controlled.
Air and coil springs both return stored energy after a bump. Rebound damping controls how quickly the suspension extends and helps settle the body. Spring rate and damper settings work together.
Comfort with connection. A well-matched spring and damper can soften sharp inputs while helping the tyres follow the road. Ride height, available travel, tyres and alignment all shape the feel.
Two springs. Different ways to tune.
Air springResponse depends on pressure, air volume and geometry. Air pressure also adjusts load support and height.
Coil springResponse depends on the coil’s material and geometry. Linear and progressive spring rates are available.
Both need matched damping. A faster rebound is not automatically a better ride.
Concept illustration, not a measured ride test. Actual ride quality depends on the vehicle, spring, damper and setup.
A CLOSER LOOK
FEEL WHAT’S
INSIDE.
The spring supports. The damper controls.
Air inside the spring supports the vehicle’s load. Adding air can extend the spring and lift the body. Releasing air lets the spring compress and the body settle.
The damper controls how quickly the suspension moves. It helps settle the movement after a bump. Ride height and damping are different adjustments.
Move the height below. At Air out, the air releases and the rubber folds down close to the collar.
Aired out. A low parked stance. Air releases from the springs and the body settles.
Ride height. A driving height is set for your vehicle, with clearance and alignment checked during setup.
Raised. Air from the tank extends the springs and lifts the body. Available travel depends on the vehicle and setup.
Your height. The slider links the car and spring illustrations. It represents height, rather than a pressure reading.
