ONAIR Build Series: An Olive-Green Audi RS5, Aired Out

ONAIR Build Series / 2015 Audi RS5 B8.5

Clean from the arches to the trunk.

Olive green, black wheels and a body sitting close to the shop floor. This 2015 Audi RS5 B8.5 has the kind of presence that makes you stop at the garage door. The colour catches the overhead lights, the wheels disappear into the arches, and the whole coupe takes on a sharper, more planted look.

But the finished stance is only half the story. This ONAIR air suspension build is just as rewarding with the trunk open: a 4-gallon seamless tank, 2V management and a coordinated black air supply setup. From the stock suspension coming out to the final shop reveal, here is a closer look at the upgrade.

From stock suspension to ONAIR

The side-by-side suspension photo is where the transformation becomes tangible. On one side is the removed stock spring-and-damper assembly. On the other is the new ONAIR air strut, with its air spring and threaded body clearly visible. It is a proper look at the hardware behind the finished stance, not just an exterior before-and-after.

The close-up takes the story a step further, showing the new air strut with the Audi upper mounting bracket fitted. These are the workshop details that rarely make the hero photo, but deserve a place in the build.

The work before the air-out

Before the finished trunk, there was the workbench. The tank, manifold and compressor are shown laid out on the mounting board, with the RS5 in the shop behind them. The two angles let you see both the individual components and how the arrangement comes together.

The long black tank provides the main visual line, the compact manifold sits in front, and the compressor occupies its own space alongside. Seen here and then in the finished trunk, the progression gives the installation its own story.

A trunk setup worth opening

The 4-gallon seamless tank is the centrepiece. Its black finish keeps the installation cohesive, while the gold-and-white ONAIR graphic gives it a clear focal point. The 2V management manifold sits centrally in front of the tank, with the single black compressor positioned to the right.

The finished trunk: a 4-gallon seamless tank, centred ONAIR 2V management and a single black compressor.

The presentation works because the pieces look like they belong together. The matching finishes, compact manifold and visible line routing keep the hardware easy to take in. Underneath, the distinctive floor graphic adds a personal touch without competing with the tank.

The ONAIR 2V Management System keeps the control approach straightforward, with front, rear and full-vehicle adjustment. Here, it is part of a trunk that makes the air ride hardware worth showing, rather than simply something to tuck out of sight.

The stance brings it all together

Back outside the trunk, the olive-green bodywork and black multi-spoke wheels do the talking. The close rear-wheel shot shows how tightly the arch frames the wheel at air-out, while the front-quarter view brings the low bumper, side skirt and wheel fitment into one picture.

It is a strong look without losing the RS5's identity. The sculpted bodywork remains the focus; the change in stance gives those familiar lines a different attitude.

The final shop reveal

From the rear, the spoiler, RS5 badge and oval exhaust outlets finish the picture. Then comes the view through the open shop door: the car sitting low under the lights, with its illuminated headlight accents adding one final detail.

This is what makes the build memorable. The suspension upgrade, wheel fitment and trunk presentation all contribute to the same result. It looks clean from a distance, and there is more to appreciate the closer you get.
